We left Yosemite early on Sunday morning and got to San Fran
in time for a noon game. The Giants play
at AT&T park. This stadium was
beautiful and we both felt was the nicest overall stadium to this point.
The weather was perfect and we started out by wandering the
along the outfield standing room only area.
The area borders the bay and offers a great view of the game and the bay
at the same time. The bay outside the
right field area is called McCovey Cove after one of their most famous players,
Willie McCovey. This is where the
kayakers and boats all hang out hoping for a homerun ball but no homeruns
today.
After the game we went next door to the Public House and met
a very friendly couple, Tim and Sally.
It turned out, that we had a lot in common – Tim worked in the same
industry as me at a contract manufacturer, Sanmina-SCI, and Sally was a nurse,
like my mother, and all of Tim’s family went to Penn State (except him). They invited us to their home, in Santa Cruz
on Monterey Bay, and we had a lovely evening w/ their extended family – a nice
BBQ and nice wine.
We spent the night and set out early the next morning for
LA. Nice new friends! Thanks again, Tim & Sally. Please ring us up if and ever you come to NY
or PA!
